Use our shared managed collectors, a dedicated managed collector with its own egress IP, or a self-hosted collector inside your network.
Security models differ. Some teams want zero collector operations, some need a stable allowlisted IP, and some need every database connection to originate from infrastructure they control. MyDBA supports all three.
The fastest path: we run the collector fleet and you connect from the dashboard. Best for cloud-hosted PostgreSQL where a managed egress path is acceptable.
Optional at £50 per machine per month: a collector reserved for your connections, managed by MyDBA, with a dedicated egress IP. Monitoring limits and charges still follow your Free or Pro plan.
Run the included collector software inside your network for private database connectivity. It sends monitoring telemetry to MyDBA over HTTPS; full-platform self-hosting is separate.
Normal collection reads diagnostic data, including catalogs, statistics, configured logs and plans. Setup Assistant can install four eligible extensions during a scan only when you opt in. Query text and logs may contain sensitive values.
Connection credentials are encrypted at rest, scoped to your organization, and used only by the collector path responsible for that connection.
Use managed collection for one database, a dedicated collector for another, and self-hosted collection for private networks. The product experience stays the same.
Fast setup and low operational overhead
Included on Free and Pro. Use the shared MyDBA collector fleet when your database can be reached from a managed collector and you want setup to be as simple as entering connection details.
Managed convenience with tighter network control
Use a dedicated collector when you want MyDBA to operate the collector, but need a stable dedicated IP address for allowlists or customer security review.
Private networks and maximum control
Run the collector in your own infrastructure when database connectivity must originate from inside your network, VPC, Kubernetes cluster, or customer-controlled host.
